Import bases, push responses

Two directions, one integration. Use existing Airtable structure to bootstrap a form, or send form data into a fresh table.

BASE → FORM

Import: base → form

Connect a base, pick a table. We auto-build a form mirroring its columns — types, options, validations preserved.

  • Auto-detects column types
  • Imports single/multi-select options
  • Preview before committing
FORM → BASE

Push: form → base

Every submission becomes a new record with fields mapped to columns. Files attach as attachment-column values.

  • Records created in real time
  • Files attached as column values
  • Rate-limit aware with retries

Smart field-to-column mapping

No "everything becomes text" workaround. Each form field maps to the right Airtable column type.

Built for Airtable workflows

Whatever your team runs in Airtable, FormBuilder feeds it.

01

Lead capture → CRM base

Inbound forms create records in your sales pipeline base. Stage, source, owner — set on creation.

02

Applicant tracking

Job applications land in your hiring base with role, resume attachment, and applicant details.

03

Bug & issue intake

User reports populate your bug-tracker base, complete with severity tags and screenshots.

04

Event registrations

Attendees become records in your event base. Filter by ticket type, group by session.

05

Inventory / asset intake

New asset forms create rows in your equipment or inventory tracker — with photo attachments.

06

Internal request queue

IT, legal, design, ops requests land in a structured queue base your team can prioritize.

Setup in 4 steps

OAuth handles auth. You pick the base and confirm the mapping.

Connect Airtable

In the dashboard, open Integrations → Airtable → Connect. Authorize FormBuilder via Airtable OAuth.

Pick base and table

Choose which base and table to send responses to. We list everything you have access to.

Confirm mapping

Review auto-mapped columns. Adjust any that need a different target. Required-column hints flag mismatches.

Go live

Save and submit a test. New records appear in your base within seconds. Done.

Security & privacy

OAuth-only. Per-base access. Revocable.

OAuth 2.0

No personal access tokens to copy or rotate. Airtable issues a workspace-level token tied to your account.

Per-base scope

You explicitly grant access to specific bases. We can only see what you choose to share.

Revoke anytime

Disconnect from FormBuilder, or revoke from Airtable account settings — both stop writes immediately.

Audit logged

Every connect, base change, and disconnect is recorded in your workspace audit log.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Airtable integration free?
Yes. The Airtable integration is included on every plan, including the free tier. No add-on, no per-record charges.
Can multiple forms write to the same base?
Yes. Multiple forms can write to the same base — even the same table. Use a Source or Form column to keep records tagged distinct.
What about Airtable API rate limits?
We respect Airtable's per-base rate limits and queue with exponential backoff. Submission bursts are smoothed automatically — you do not lose records.
Does it work with file attachments?
Yes. Files uploaded through your form land in an Attachment column on the new record. Each file is stored encrypted and served via secure links.
Can I edit Airtable records from FormBuilder?
Today the integration is one-way (form → Airtable) per submission. Records are created, not updated. For update flows, pair with the Webhooks integration to build custom logic.
What happens if my Airtable connection breaks?
Submissions still save in FormBuilder. Airtable writes are queued and retried. Reconnect to flush queued records; otherwise they log as failed delivery.
