Donation form questions, answered

Can I collect recurring or monthly donations?

Not yet. The donation field handles one-time gifts today, with a custom amount or preset tiers. Recurring and monthly giving is on the roadmap but is not available, so we do not advertise it. If you need it now, you can ask donors to give again whenever they like.

Are donations through FormBuilder tax-deductible?

That depends on your organisation, not on FormBuilder. Whether a gift is tax-deductible is determined by your charitable status, such as 501(c)(3) in the US, and is your responsibility. FormBuilder sends every donor a receipt email they can keep for their records, but we do not determine or certify tax status.

What does it cost to accept donations?

FormBuilder does not add platform fees on top of your donations. You connect your own Stripe account and pay only Stripe standard processing rates. Paid FormBuilder plans unlock the payment field, so check the pricing page for which plan you need.

How do refunds work?

Because gifts are charged in your own Stripe account, you issue refunds from your Stripe dashboard exactly as you would for any other Stripe payment. FormBuilder keeps the submission record linked to the charge so it is easy to find.

Which plan do I need for a donation form?

Donation fields run on the payment field, which is available on paid plans. You can build and preview a donation form on the free plan, then upgrade when you are ready to go live and accept real gifts. Check the pricing page for current details.

What donor information can I collect?

Any fields you like. Add name, email, address, a message, or anything else your form needs. Conditional fields let you show extras only when they apply, such as an in memory of name that appears only after a donor toggles it on. For donor records over time, connect the Notion or Airtable integrations.
